NEW MOVE EXPECTED CANTON RAILWAY GAP 300,000 MEN AVAILABLE (11 a.m.) CHUNGKING, Jan. 5. A Chinese Army spokesman has estimated that 19 or 20 Japanese divisions. totalling more than 300,000 men, are in Central and South China. The Japanese are at present regrouping and re-organising for the next move, which would aim to close the Chinese-held gap in the CantonHankow railway. Japanese remnants are still holding out in Wanting.
