The United Stales Maritime Commission announces that with the delivery of 145 merchant ships during December, United States shipyards in 1944 turned out 1677 ships with an aggregate of well over 16,000.000 deadweight tons, compared with the record of the year 1943, when 1396 ships aggregating over 19,000,000 deadweight tons were delivered.
