More than 1100 American heavy bombers to-day attacked Gorman rail and road centres over a dozen dilferent points. It was the twelfth consecutive day of operations for the United States Eighth Air Force. The targets included communication centres north-west ol' Korisruhe and other communication centres near the Belgian-German border and marshalling yards at Cologne, Aschat, Enburg and Fulda. The Fortresses and Liberators were escorted by more than 000 Mustangs and Thunderbolts. In weather which was described as “not over-good,” the Allied Air Forces to-day flew 3000 sorties, again smashing at German communicauon centres and road and railway junctions. The Allied air forces attacked German armour ana motor transport in tlie Bastogne and St. Vith sectors. Knocking out 62 tanks, damaging 34 and also bombed 330 motor transports and knocked out 27 gun posiuons with little interference from the Luftwaffe. One Mustang squadron ran into five Messerschnutt 109’s anu. without loss, shot down all five.

The United States Tactical Air Force yesterday knocked out 374 German vehicles, including 55 armoured vehicles, and also damaged 35. including 11 tanks.
