BATTLE OF AUSTRIA

RED ARMY PREPARED ENEMY REINFORCEMENTS LONDON, Dec. 0. Four German armies have been brought up to reinforce the troops facing the Russians in the coming battle of Austria, says Reuter’s correspondent in Moscow. Three Soviet armies under General Petrov, Marshal Malinovsky and General Tolbukhin are to-day converging against Budapest from the north, east and south, it is almost certain that the real thrust towards Vienna will come from General Toibukhin’s spearhead aimed against Budapest. The Russians are moving up more tanks and cayalry to form a mobile spearhead, against the Austrian frontier. The Danube valley offers the most convenient channel oi approach, with the added advantage of a broad motor road running all the way from Budapest. The Russian offensive against Budapest is not yet confirmed in Moscow, but the Red Army has made big preparations in the past few days to attack the Hungarian capital, and the blow should not be long delayed.
