Provision is contained in the local mihoritles temporary housing emergency regulations, 1944, Gazetted las. fight, for the establishment of transi, .rousing centres for persons waiting .o have State house or other housing iccommodation allocated to them. A transit housing centre may be judt on any land owned, held, oi contained by local authorities, who •nay purchase or lease land for the purpose. in any transit housing centre the seal authority may provide the musing accommodation, services, con /c-nienees and amenities, and meals L ninks fit. To enable them to do this, .ne local authority may raise loans jy special order and may make by.aws in connection with any transit rousing centre it controls.
