WESTPORT DISPUTE
(P.A.) WESTrORT. Den. 7. “Westport railway crane-drivers will cease work from noon next Wednesday, unless the matter under dispute is’settled." said the secretary of Ihe Westport A.S.R.S., Mr. F. 11. McEachran. He added that the dispute arose from the practise of calling upon men to report for duty daily at 4 p.m. prepared for work and when no work is offering the men being sent home. Under the regulations the men are entitled to four hours' minimum wage, which they were not receiving. The dispute had been dragging on since January. “'lf a stoppage occurs no coal will; be railed or shipped from Westpqrt,”i said Mr. McEachran.
