NOW THE PREMIER
DR SOONG’S NEW POST CHIANG’S WAR PLANS CHUNGKING, Dec. 4. Dr. T. V. Soong has assumed the Premiership of China, enabling Marshal Chiang Kai-shek to concentrate on military matters, says the Associated Press. There are unconfirmed, possibly inspired, reports of an agreement in principle between the Central Government and the Communists. Marshal . Chiang, announcing Dr. Soong’s new status, said the present war situation was extremely difficult. Nevertheless, the stage of final victory was near. He added that the military developments had been anticipated and the enemy forces inside Kweichow province must be given a crushing blow and completely annihilated.
