US. “SUBS’ ” VICTIMS CRUISER AND DESTROYER (9 a.m.). WASHINGTON, Dec. 4. A Navy Department communique announces that United States submarines have sunk 20 vessels in the Pacific and Far East, comprising a light cruiser, a destroyer, a tanker, 13 cargo vessels and four medium cargo transports.
