The Rev. Nigel Williams. Wanganui, has been appointed vicar of Marton. He wilt take charge of the parochial district early next year. „ The Mayor. Mr. N. H. Bull, left Gisborne this morning for Wellington, where he will attend the annual con-fni-enoe of the Municipal Association. Mr, W. M. Jenkins, town clerk, left on Saturday for Wellington to attend inn conference of executive council r»flfinnv«s. which precedes that of the Municipal Assoelation. The Auckland Hospital Board, has appointed Miss Winifred Delugar., at present assistant lady superintendent at. the Green Lane Hospital, to the position of lady superintendent at the Auckland Hospital. The appointment is subject, to the approval of the Minister of Health. There were eight applicants.-—P.A. The High Commissioner for A.ustralia in New Zealand, Mr T. de L. d’Alton, announced in “Wellington to-day that Mr. W... R,. Carney had arrived from Australia to .take uh the position of commercial secretary at liis .office in .Wellington. Mr. J. L. iwfenzies, who was formerly commercial secretary, lias been appointed to a post, in the . commodity and export control division of the Department of Commerce and Agriculture in Melbourne. Mr. Carney, formerly assistant Australian Government Trade Commissioner in India, lately, had been associated with the .Cbntmonwfealth food control administration m Melbourne. During the present Week he will be participating in the mterGpvernmental talks between Australia and Now Zealand on matters arising from the Canberra agreement.—P.A.
