SHELLED BY GERMANS
REFUGEES FROM AACHEN LONDON, Oct. 2b. German artillery to-day shelled Brand, three miles south-east oi Aachen where 2000 civilian refugees from Aachen had encamped, says Reuter’s correspondent with the United States First Army. The German gunners had Brand under permanent observation and must have known that it was a refugee centre.
