MINES DEFY DETECTORS
NEW YORK. Sc pi. 7. Glass land mines that cannot be located by magnetic finders or set oil' by electronic detonators arc now being used by the Allied forces in Europe and the Pacific, accordmg to the colonel in charge of the Cincinnati Ordnance Depot. The glass mines were a closelyguarded secret for many months. These non-motallic mines are known as Mli and arc effective against tanks, trucks and other vehicles.
