SUNDAY OBSERVANCE
DAY OF REST & WORSHIP Resolutions relating to the observance of Sunday have been published by a meeting of the ministers and laymen convened by the Hamilton Ministers’ Association, which discussed the matter. Great concern was expressed over the secularisation of Sunday and the opinion was held that the preservation of the day for rest from ordinary toil, and still more, tor Divine worship and spiritual lecreation, has been, and still is, of the greatest importance tor the wellbeing of society and the nation. The meeting called on the community as a whole, and particularly upon "those in authority as guardians oi civil welfare, to continue their co-operation with the churches in preserving to the fullest possible extent the sanctity of this priceless institution. It further called upon all professing Christians tor their own sakes, and for the sake ot the community, and particularly the future generation, to avail themselves more worthily of the religious privileges of the Lord’s Day and to avoid whatever would tend by example to discourage in others the rightful and worthy observanve of the day.
