The Rugby football enthusiasts at Iho Gisborne Ova! oil -Saturday wore treated to a fast display. The A Division match between two Air Force teams was very keenly contested and some fine back movements were seen. Air Force I? proved the better of the two teams and won by 31 points to Air Force A's (>.

A very interesting game between Marist and High School resulted in a win for Marist by six points to three. The position of teams in the B Division has how become very even due to High School’s defeat. Marist, Old Boys and High .School are now level for first place with .10 points each. The game was very fast and willing. It was very even and High School were unfortunate in not gaining an equalising three points towards the end of the game when a penalty kick missed going over. M. Parker, an ex-Southland piayer, was outstanding on the Marist side, while K. Ota played a very good, game for High School A. Scorers for Marist wore B. Moles and IC. Candy. T. Torrie gained the three points for High School B. The referee was Mr. H. Hunter High School Old Boys sufiferod a defeat at the hands of High School B by nine points to three when they met on No. 2 field. The game was fast and some solid play developed during the match. High School scorers were M. Matnirn, J. Maraki and H. Lee. C. McKenzie scored for H.S.O.TL The game was controlled by Captain N. (J. Pauling. Old Boys inflicted a severe defeat on A.T.C. by 52 points to six. which is the highest score registered this season and also since 1940, when High School defeated H. 5.0.8. by GO poiutts to six. A.T.C. player' gamely, but were outclassed. ‘ The Old Boys’ forwards constantly fed their strong line of backs with the ball and on numerous ' occasions allowed them to whip the ball out to the wings, who outpaced their opponents.
