PARUAMfeNT’S WORK PENDING LEGISLATION (P,R.) WELLINGTON, July l’G. The business which has to be done in the session of Parliament to be resumed on Tuesday will involve at least three strenuous weeks of work. What will interest members even more than the Government’s legislation is the announcement of the general election date which, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P leaser, promised to make when the House resumes. Mr. Fraser has also indicated that it means hard work and long hours for members of Parliament to push through the programme ancl give adequate time for the election campaign.' ~ , . A ...... .. The whole of the deyartmental estimates of expenditure have to be considered and there are several Government measures expected. One win deal with the reciprocal arrangement with Australia regarding old age and invalids pensions ancl there are social security amendments to be considered, while the announcement by the Minister of Education that the senool leaving age is to be raised to *•» years is likely to be given statutoiy authority.
