KING’S SECRETARY
SIR A. HARDINGE RESIGNS (British Official Wireless.) (9 a.m.) RUGBY, July 18. Sir Alexander Hardinge, private secretary to the King, has been ordered by his doctors to take a prolonged rest, and has resigned. The King has accepted the resignation with great regret and has conferred the Grand Commander of the Bath on him. His Majesty has appointed Sir Alan Lascclles to be his private secretary. Sir Alan Lascclles, a cousin of the EaVl of Hardwood, has been assistant private secretary during three reigns.
