PATRIOTIC QUOTA EAST COAST COUNCIL £11,656 PAID IN SO FAR Payments made by the six zone committees in the East Coast Provincial Patriotic Council’s area during the current patriotic year total £11.650. or just over half of the quota of £23,800 allocated to the East Coast council for the year. This was reported to the council meeting yesterday afternoon by the lion, treasurer, Mr. M. J. White, who ■stated that £7OOO had been remitted to the National Patriotic Fund Board. Totals £23,800 £11,050 Mr. D. J. McNaught reported that the full Matakaoa quota was already in sight. At the meeting, a motion of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr. W. Barrington Miller, the chairman, Mr I. J. Quigley, staling that apart from his support of various projects in the town, Mr. Miller was a liberal contributor to patriotic funds and anything for the benefit of returned soldiers, the establishment of the Miller trust being one of his tokens of generosity.
