MEALS AT STATIONS
ARMED FORCES MEN AMERICAN AND DOMINION “There is a story going round that at stations betveeen (Tisborne and Wellington, American soldiers are being given hot drinks and our own men on final leave have been left out,” stated Mi'. F. T. Robinson at a meeting of the East Coast Provincial Patriotic Council yesterday afternoon. “I think this should be"; inquired into to see if 'the report is correct.” .he added. The chairman. Mr. I. J. Quigley, said he could not say whether the report was correct, but from liis observations he knew that the Americans bought their own refreshments at the stations. They usually took into the carriages much more than they could eat themselves and handed the surplus round.. Mr. Robinson said it was stated that some patriotic organisation was supplying the American soldiers. “Might it have been the Red Cross, because many of these men are justout of hospital?” Mrs. R. U. Burke asked. The council agreed to inquire into the matter.
