NEW CAMPAIGN STARTS GISBORNE EFFORT The campaign for the sale of health stamps is starting once more in Gisborne, and the public is being asked to use health stamps on their correspondence Front the sale of stamps, the health camp organisations receive one-third of .the purchase money. For 3d, the purchaser secures a stamp, for which 2d is used in postage and the remaining Id is for health purposes. Last year, Gisborne sales of health stamps amounted to about £3OO, of which the health camp authorities secured £IOO, this being subsidised £ for £ out of the King George V memorial fund. Gisborne's health camp building was constructed and maintained by the King George V fund, but the local committee has the responsibility of finding the money to keep .the children there. About £IOOO a year is spent in Gisborne as a result of the camp being opened, and substantial support for the funds through the sale of stamps is hoped for. The annual report of the Poverty Bay and East Coast Children's Health Camp Committee shows .that 185 children were admitted over a period of six months, of which 20 were readmissions for a further term. The district under the control of the committee has been extended to include Wairoa and Opotiki. During the year .four children from Wairoa spent six weeks at the camp at a cost of £32 10s. while from Opotiki 12 children were admitted at a cpst of £lO2.
