BLANKET SHORTAGE
EX-SOLDIERS' PLIGHT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. The acute shortage of blankets and the unfortunate position of servicemen in this respect subsequent _to their discharge led .to the Dominion council of- the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association passing a resolution appealing to the Government to make blankets available for purchase to these men. Tlie association has been advised that blankets will be made available as quickly as possible and local associations will advise the Ministry of Supply of the most necessitious cases. The Minister of Supply said that every effort must be made to supply men with their requirements, but the heavy demands of .the defence forces limited the number of blankets available.
