OBITUARY

MR. THOMAS J. M°GREGOR DAIRYING PIONEER Mr. Thomas John McGregor, the pioneer butter factory proprietor in the Gisborne district, died in Morrinsvillc yesterday. Mr. McGregor established the first blitter factory in the Gisborne district 44 years ago, and on December 15, 1902, the Kia Ora Co-operative Dairying Company, Limited, signed an agreement with him to purchase the factory, Mr. McGregor remaining on for a time as factory manager. Mr. McGregor has been living with his son, Mr. Ernest McGregor, in Morrinsville for some years.
