SHEEP PRICES STEADY WESTFIELD MARKET (P.A.) AUCKLAND, this day. A full entry of ox and cow beef made late rates at Westfield stock sale. Extra choice ox beef was 40s per 1001 b.: choice and prime, 37s to 395; secondary and plain, 33s to 355: prime cow and heifer, 30s to 345; choice and prime, 26s to 28s. Extra heavy prime steers made £l6 to £l7 7s 6d; heavy, £l4 10s to £ls 10s; medium, £l3 to £l4; light and small, £9 to £l2 10s; extra heavy prime cows and heifers, £lO to ill 17s 6d; heavy, £8 to £9; others, £5 to £7 10s. Sheep sold at late rates. Extra heavy prime wethers made 43s 6d to 465; heavy, 41s 6d to 42s 6d ; medium, 39s to 40s; light, 35s to 37s 6d; others, 28s to 335; extra heavy prime young ewes, 34s to 36s 9d; heavy. 30s to 335; medium. 25s 6d to 28s. A ful! lamb entry sold well, making 14s to 31s 6d. Small prime vealers were the only class to sell well in a poorer quality calf yarding. Runners made £5 to £S Is; heavy vealers, £5 15s to £7 ss; medium, £1 to £3 18s;, bobby and rough, 3s to 18s. Store pigs, eased in price. Baconers were steady in a small entry. Choppers made 35s to 645; heavy baconers, 92s to 955: medium, 84s to 88s; light, 79s to 80s; heavy porkers, 74s to 81s; medium, 66s to 70s: j light, 56s to 625; small and unfinished, 47s | to 535; stores, 47s to 50s; slips, 33s to 40s; weaners, 24s to 38s.
