Waioeka Slip Cleared

Although it was reported by the A. A. patrol, Mr. G. V. Merton, at 10 o’clock to-day that the slip which occurred in the Waioeka Gorge in the early hours of the morning had been cleared, and that the mail was through, he said it would not be advisable for cars to attempt to use the road as it was extremely greasy and further slips were likely to come down. All the coast roads were open, but at Takapau the condition was doubtful, with a likelihood of slips.
