KAITARATAHI NEWS

A large sum will be added this week to the funds for the Puhn baby in the patriotic contest. The sum was raised by a euchre party and dance and a number of competitions. The euchre Was won by Mr. Greggan and Mrs. P. Brown. The evening had been organised by Mrs. G. G. Brown and Miss Coates, and Miss L; Ruru supplied tile dance music. Extras were contributed by Mesdames H. White and C. G. Brown, and Mr. R. J. Brown acted as M.C. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mrs. Richmond and partner and Miss Newing and partner. A delicious suppet Was served on tables decorated with pink and white spring flowers. Mr. and Mrs. S. Kemp, who have left the district to reside jii 'fe Karaka, were the guests of honour at a pleasant evening held at the residence of Mr. and Mi‘«. R. J. Brown. Mr. R. J. Brown spoke of the kindness and the \vork done by the guests of honour itl their 38 years as residents of Puha, Messrs. G. Brown and G. Sfcfton endorsed these remarks and Mr. Brown asked Mr. and Mrs. Kemp tp accept a gift.
