NAZI FLIERS BOMBED SABOTAGE IN FRANCE CANAL GATES BLOWN UP (2.15 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 12. Unknown persons attacked with grenades 60 German airmen who wercexercising in the Jean Boulin Stadiiim, killing two, seriously injuring eight and slightly injuring 10. The attack was the climax pf. a week of activity against the Germans and sabotage including the dynamiting of the lock-gates which bldcked the Nord Canal at Tergnier. The British United Press says that the police discovered 451 b. of dynamite near Clermont-Ferrand and it is suggested, bu.t not confirmed, that it was for dynamiting M. Laval’s chateau at Chateldon, 30 miles away. Police leave has been suspended in this area.
