Home Guard Requirements
When appeals-by men called tip for Home Guard- duty were heard- by the No. 1 Armed FOt'fes. Appeal Board in Hamilton, Mr. G. Ilovey,. Orpup adjutant. said there were 4000 men in the E.P.S., while the. Hamilton Home Guard had difficulty in securing 700 men. Of 1000 called-up; 415 had been retained for E.P.S. -d.uty, J „a'rtd of 1710 -men 1 enrolled' hr th@’ FromE" Guard, only 173 were in the first division, leaving 200 short of requirements.
