U.s. RAID ON LINCHWAN CHINESE "OBJECTIVE (2.40 p.m.) CHUNGKING, Aug. 9. The Americans again bombed me Japanese positions outside Linchwan, causing heavy casualties, while the Chinese recaptured the charred suburb of Huwan which the Japanese set on fire before their retreat. The Chinese at present are attaching many points of Linchwan, aiming to cut off the Japanese retreat.
