Easton, wild was reported in the air force casualty list published on Saturday as missing, believed killed, enlisted from Gisborne, where he had been prominent in the Boy Scout movement for some time. lie held the position of rover mate in the Boy Scouts, and made many friends in the country districts bv keeping in touch with the Lone Scouts, his many visits to them and his ready sympathy gaining the confidence of the boys scattered in the least accessible parts of the district. He was in the Lands Department’s office in Gisborne, and after entering the air force went to Canada to complete his training. His parents live in Auckland.
