SERIOUS CHARGE
CONSTABLE REMANDED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, this day. On remand from north Auckland. Herbert Hunter Barrett, aged 41, a constable, appeared in the city Police Court charged with attempting to murder Mate Soko Urlieh. At the request of the police and with the consent of defending counsel, Mr. A. Wilson, Mr. J. 11. Luxford, S.M., granted a remand until Monday next. The police said they hoped that by then a date would be fixed for the accused to apear at Kaitaia.
