WOMEN CONDUCTORS
PERTH TRAM SERVICE EQUALITY WITH MEN (0.30 a.m.) PERTH, July 2. Women are to be employed as tram conductors in Perth at the same rates of pay and conditions as men. This decision was made to overcome the severe shortage of man-power. Preference will be given to the wives and nearest relatives of tramway men in, the fighting services.
