ENEMY SHIP FIRED
R.A.F. BOMBING ATTACK SORTIES OVER FRANCE (British Official Wireless.) (10.30 a.m.) RUGBY, July 2. An Air Ministry communique states: “Last night Coastal Command aircraft attacked enemy shipping off the Frisian Islands. One medium-sized vessel was left well on fire. “Fighter command planes bombed enemy airfields and railways and shot down three enemy bombers. Bomber Command planes laid mines in enemy waters. From these operations one Coastal Command aircraft is missing.
