£9439 FROM RECLAMATION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. An announcement was made by the Minister of Supply, .the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, to-day that the National Council for the Reclamation of Waste Material and its affiliated boards and committees had succeeded during the year not merely in securing large quantities of metals, paper, cleaning rags, and glass containers, but had by its sale been able to make a contribution of £9439 ICs 7d to the National Patriotic Fund Board. A cheque for this amount had been handed over to the secretary of the patriotic board, making a total of £14,481 since the council commenced operations .21 months ago. Canterbury occupied first place with £3513. Wellington coming next with £2BOO, Auckland with £IOB6, Otago with £626, and from the other provinces a total of £734.
