Acting Squadron-Leader Arnott was born in Palmerston North in 1917 and educated at the Palmerston North High School. He was accepted for a short-service commission in the Royal Air Force in 1938. His next-of-kin is his father, Mr. E. J. Arnott, Rongotea. Death Presumed Flight-Lieutenant Craig was born in Waipawa in 1915 and educated at Hastings High School. He was accepted for a short-service commission in the Royal Air Force in 1938. He was reported missing on air operations in July, 1941, his death later being officially presumed. His father is Mr. J. Acting Group - Captain Lance Elworthy Jarman was awarded the Distinguished Flying. Cross in 1940. His father is Mr. H. E. Jarman, Christchurch. Flight-Lieutenant Miller was born at Eureka in 1914 and educated at Morrinsville High School. He was selected for a short-service commission in April, 1939. His father is Mr. H. A. Miller, Morrinsville. Squadron - Leader Richmond was born in Nelson in 1915 and accepted for a short service, commission- in the Royal Air Force in 1937. His father is Mr. Gordon Richmond, of Takaka. Commission Relinquished Flight-Lieutenant Saxelby was born at Woodlands in 1921 and educated at the Southland Boys’ High School. He was granted a temporary commission in the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1939, relinquishing this on transfer to the Royal Air Force in April, 1940. His sister is Miss E. N. Saxelby, Christchurch. Flight-Lieutenant Simich was born in Auckland in 1916 and educated at the Sacred Heart College, He was selected for a short-service commission in June, 1939. but on the outbreak of war this scheme was held in abeyance and he commenced training with the Royal New Zealand Air Force in November, 1939. His father is Mr. M E. Simich, Auckland. Sergeant J. Starky was born in Gisborne in 1916 and educated at Christ’s College, Christchurch. He was an applicant for the Civil Reserve of Pilots in 1939. His father is Mr. F. B. Starky, Toatoa. Flying-Officer Thomson was born in Stratford in 1914 and educated at the Stratford Technical High School.
