BRITISH DIPLOMAT TRIALS IN BULGARIA (Reed. Dec. 27, 9 a.m.) LONDON. Dec. 26 'The German News Agency report: hat after a 50-day trial, which is a record for Bulgaria, a special cour n Sofia sentenced to death in absentia Mr. Norman Davis, formerly press attache at the British Legation, M. Dimitrov, general secretary of thr Communist International, and M Cetkovic, former secretary to the ’ugoslav Legation, on charges of •preparing a revolt in Bulgaria at th> >eginning of 1941. Eleven others, who appeared, wer also sentenced to death. The accused allegedly aimed to “change Bulgaria’s ffii'ical and social regime with the assistance of foreign powers.”
