The Mayor, Mr. N. H. Bull, left this morning for Wellington to attend a conference called by the Minister of National Service, the Hon. R. Semple, to review the E.P.S. organisation throughout the Dominion. During Mr. Bull’s absence, the deputy chief warden, Mr. L. Miles, will be in charge of the E.P.S. organisation in Gisborne. Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, M..P., Waitemata, who has been taking part in the by-election fight in the Bay of Plenty electorate in support of the Labour candidate, Mr. Chas. Mills, left Gisborne this morning for Wellington, to take part in the Parliamentary session called by the Prime Minister! the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, to deal with problems arising from recent developments in the Pacific area.
