AMUSEMENTS
Regent.—Margaret Sullavan, James Stewart, and the famed “Ernst Lubitsch touch” contribute equal shares to one of the most delightful entertainments ever filmed, “The Shop Around the Corner,” which commences to-day at the Regent. The associate programrfte is of a high standard.
Majestic.—The two comedy “hits” brought back by request are “Bluebeard’s Eighth Wife,” starring Gary Cooper and Claudette Colbert, and “The Grade Allen Murder Case,” starring Grade Allen. Warren William, and Ellen Drew. The programme opens with the serial, “The Spider’s Web.”
King’s.—H. G. Well’s “Kipps” finishes to-night, together with a budget of up-to-the-minute news of the war defences of Australia and New Zealand, and also the Anzacs in action, the latest from Tobruk and the story of Iran. “That Certain Something," a sophisticated comedy glorifying the Australian girl, commences tomorrow.
