PHILIPPINES LEADER ROOSEVELT FOLLOWER (Reed. Dec. 3, 9 a.m.) MANILA. Dec. 1. The President of the Philippines. Dr. Manuel Quezon, alarme'd at the unexpected reaction to his speech oi Saturday, criticising iperialists” for having blocked his defence plans, to-day issued a statement that there was no question of his loyalty to the United States. “I would follow Mr. Roosevelt to the bitter end,” he declared.
