Beach Camp Facilities
Sir, —Allow me a little space to point out an essentia* convenience lacking at the Waikanae Beach camping grounds, namely, an efficient hotwater service. As a camper of some years’ experience throughout New Zealand, I consider the conveniences in this camp could be greatly improved. As the natural beauty of the site makes it an ideal camping ground, why spoil the ship for a ha’porth of tar, by neglect of necessary attention and foresight? The erection of cabins, the problem of encroaching sand and, last but not least, the installation of a good hotwater service, should, I think, be attended to without delay. “A REGULAR VISITOR.”
Sir, —being an all year round camper I am fully in favour of a hot-water system being installed at Waikanae Beach camping grounds. The electric type is most satisfactory, quite a number of North as well as South Island camps being equipped with these. Other campers will realise how very convenient it is to arrive late at night and find boiling water. And furthermore how these camps get well advertised and praised. Apart from this the camp is very comfortable, due to the courtesy of the caretaker. “SATISFIED VISITOR.”
