SPEARHEAD IF NEEDED AUSTRALIAN RESOURCES (Reed. Nov. 27, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 26. Speaking in London, the Australian Minister, Sir Earle Page, said that Singapore was not merely impregnable, it would be able, if necessary, to become a sßearhead of a great (offensive.
He added that the personnel of the Australian air force had increased from 3,500 to over 60,000. The munitions ’production in Australia was 20 times greater than in 1939. It was expected that nearly 50 naval vessels Would be completed this year. A large programme of merchant tonnage is under way.
