HIGHLAND PIPES
POVERTY BAY BAND ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Highland Pipe Band was well attended. Dr. R. M. Gunn occupying the chair. It was reported that the strength of the band had increased to 15, and that full uniforms were now available for 12 players. The committee complimented the band on its various -successful public performances during the year, and upon (he healthy state of the finances. A vote of thanks was accorded tc Mr. A. Macdonald for his services to the band, which were' described as having contributed largely to its success. The meeting elected Dr. Gunn as the chief of the band for the ensuing year, with the Mayor. Mr. N. H. Bull, and Major H. Miller as chieftains. Mr. A. Macdonald accepted the post of lion, secretary for a further term.
