NEW POINTS SYSTEM POVERTY BAY DECISION For the purpose of trying to brighten up the game, the Poverty Bay Cricket Association’s management committee last night decided to alter the system of points and to adopt the following to operate from Saturday, November 29:—Outright win, 10 points; win on first innings, 6 points: loss on first innings, 1 point; outright loss, nil; tie outright, 5 points; tie on first innings, 4 points; drawn game, 2 points. The committee decided to ask the Poverty liay Cricket Umpires' Association to endeavour to appoint one umpire per week to assist Bro. Edwin with the control of junior matches on the High School grounds, as teachers were not available for this work. It was decided also to request the umpires' association to appoint a definite member as timekeeper at the Oval. Mr. R. H. Cook's application for the High School junior A team to play Te Karaka on Saturday was granted, and it was decided to play the High School A v. High School Rectory junior match during the following week or later in the season. Points secured by the senior teams to date were reported as follows: —Senior A Grade.— City and Marist, 23 points; Old Boys-Civil Service, 17 points; G.H.5.0.8., 11 points. Senior B Grade (end of first round). —Marist, 21 points; High School A, 17 points; Gisborne Club and G.H.5.0.8., 16 points; High School B, 8 points. The draw for next Saturday was made as follows: —Senior A Grade.—Marist v. Old Boys-Civil Service, Oval No. 1 wicket; City v. G.H.5.0.8.. Oval No. 3. Senior B Grade.—High School A v. High School B, High School Rectory wicket; G.H.5.0.8. v. Gisborne Club. Oval No. 2; Marist, a bye. Juniors.—-Marist v. Intermediate B, High School bath wicket; High School B v. Intermediate A, Oval, No. 4. Those present at the meeting were: —Mr. P. C. Dwyer, chairman, Bro. Edwin, Messrs. V. C. R. Mitford, A. E. Bignali, B. Lee. M. G. Robinson, R. H. Cook, G. A. Revel!. G.
