The Army Department has withdrawn their major demands for changes in the construction of the Owen sub-machine-gun. This is the outcome of the conference called by the Minister of the Army, Ml’. F. M. Forde, to settle differences of opinion between the army on one side and the inventor and the manufacturers on the other. A few minor changes, the advantages of which, were conceded by Mr. Owen, will be discussed with army experts and the manufacturers to-day. Full production is expected at an early date.- - t: . .-
