PT. AHURIRI VISIT KAHUTIA CLUB’S WIN The nighlight of the week for members of the Kahutia Ladies’ Bowling Club was the visit of a rink from Port Ahuriri, and a fulldress inter-club match with the visitors, tor a cup donated by Mrs. E. Thomas. in the early stages, the Port Ahuriri players had a decided advantage, and at the seventh head they led 13—5. On the eighth head. Kahutia were four up, and in trying to improve matters the visiting skipper drove out the best Port bowl, leaving the home side six up on the head. The luck then changed markedly, and the Port Ahuriri rink did not move oif the unlucky 13 for. the next 12 heads. Kahutia ran out the winners by a wide margin.

The result in detail was: —Miss Thompson, Mesdames Hansen, McCarthy, and Logan iPt. Ahuriri) 1G v. Mesdames Nicol, Humphreys, Corlet, and McLaughlin (Kahutia), 34. ' A progressive pair tournament was staged on Thursday at the Kahutia club, the Pt. Ahuriri visitors taking part. The winner in the skips’ section was Mrs. Holland, with four wins; and in the leads’ section Mrs, Wilson led with 3{- wins. The summary of results was as under:— Leads.—Mrs. McCauley, 2 wins,-2 losses; Miss Thompson, 3 wins, 1 loss; Mrs. Jolly, 21 wins, 1 loss; Mrs. Wilson, 3J wins; Mrs. Nicol. 1 win, 3 losses; Mrs. Hansen, 2 wins, 2 losses; Mrs. Humphreys, 2 wins, 2 losses.
