CHRISTMAS MAIL

LETTERS FOR SOLDIERS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. P. C. Webb, urges persons using the air mail service to soldiers in the Middle East to post Christmas correspondence without delay. Mr. Webb explained that apart from the normal time involved in transmission, extra time might be occupied at the base post office in sorting and delivering correspondence to units as there was likely to be a heavy quantity. The base post office also was likply to be exceptionally busy just prior to Christmas dealing with large surface-mails. If air mail correspondence was posted early it would have good prospects of being delivered to the addressees in time for Christmas
