The Berlin correspondent of the United Press said on October 29 that the British had again shot down Baron von Werra, one of Germany’s foremost air' aces. Von Werra was Shot ddwn near London in September, 1940, and twice escaped from British war prisoners’ camps before he was transferred to Canada. There he escaped from a prison camp and reached the United .States, where he was arrested for illegal entry and leleased on— a— .-bond-of £2500. He absconded and left the United States on a faked Swiss passport and eventually reached Germany.
