REFUND OF PROFITS
AUSTRALIAN FIRMS WORKS FOR DEFENCE (Reed. Nov. 22, 9 a.m.) CANBERRA, Nov. 21. The Minister of Munitions, Mr. N. J. Makin, revealed that certain large industrial firms had voluntarily refunded to the Commonwealth more than £IOO,OOO of their profits from works carried out for the' Defence Department. Mr. Makin commented that this was a healthy sign and expressed the hope that the example would be followed by others imbued with a similar patriotic spirit-
