AGAIN ON MARCH

NEW ZEALAND DIVISION DIFFERENT CONDITIONS MR. FRASER’S COMMENT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. “This means that our lads, who distinguished themselves so conspicuously in Greece and Crete, are once more on the march, but under very different conditions,” said the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser last evening, referring to the advance into Cyrenaica. He said that the troops were not this time moving with an inadequate air force. Mr. Fraser said he had just received a letter from Major-General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., the New Zealand Commander, assuring him that our men were not under the disadvantages they were so obviously under, and with disastrous results, in Greece and Crete. It was true that when our troops left for Greece they were well equipped, but a great deal of their equipment had to be sacrificed.

“My thoughts are with our men in the Western Desert,” said Mr. Fraser. “I know that whatever happens our men and their comrades from South Africa, Britain and India will give a great account of themselves.”
