BLOCKADE NOT FEARED NEW ZEALAND’S POSITION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The ability of New Zealand to withstand a blockade as far as food supplies are concerned was mentioned by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, yesterday. He was discussing wartime life in New Zealand and comparing the conditions here with those overseas. “We are immensely fortunate,” he said. “If we were to be blockaded for a period there would be no shortage of food, such as Europe is suffering from and Great Britain has to guard against.”
