In the list of passes for Canterbury University College examinations the following' Gisborne name appears:— Final B.A.—Political Science I: Eila G. Simpson. Mr. M. Cable will retire from the position of general manager of the tramway and electrical department of the Wellington City Corporation at the end of January. Mr. J. A. K. Stewart, Nuhaka, has ben appointed by the Wairoa County Council to fill the vacancy on the Wairoa Electric-Power Board caused by the death of Mr. William Tait. — Special. Mr. A. T. Carroll, chairman, and Mr. D. H. Robertson have been appointed by the Wairoa. County Council as its representatives at a meeting of Wairoa local bodies to consider purchasing suitable areas of land in the county for the settlement of returned soldiers.—Special. Lieutenant-Colonel (temporary Colonel) L. Potter, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Officer Commanding the Central Field Force and the temporary rank of colonel on being seconded to the 2nd N.Z.E.F., states a Gazette issued in Wellington last evening.
