SHEEP AND LAMBS STEADY WESTFIELD MARKET (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Ox beef was yarded in well up to average numbers at Westfield stock sale yesterday and sold freely at values full# up io last week’s .quotations. A full yarding of cows and heifers also sold steadily and late quotations were fully maintained. Extra choice ox made to 41s per 1001 b., choice and prime, 33s to 40s; secondary and plain, 34s to 365; extra prime young cow and heifer, 33s to 37s;' choice and prime, 30s to 325; ordinary, 25s to 295. Extra heavy prime steers made £ls to £IG 12s 6d ; heavy, £l4 5s to £l4 15s;-lighter, £l3 10s to, £l4; light, £ll 10s to £l2 10s; small and unfinished, £7 10s to £11; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO to £ll ss; heavy, £3 10s to £9 10s; lighter, £7 to £3; others, £4 10s to £6 10s. A good yarding of sheep was penned. Competition was steady and values generally ruled on a par with late rates for both wethers and ewes. Extra heavy prime wethers made £1 Gs 6d to £1 7s; heavy, £1 5s to £1 6s; medium, £1 4s to £t 4s 6d; .light, £1 3s to £1 3s 9d ; plain ami unfinished, )8s fid to £1 2s; extra heavy prime young aiul maiden ewes, 17s lo 19s 3d; heavy, 14s to 15s; lighter, 12s 1o 13s 6(1; plain and aged, 10s to 11s; others. Is to 3s. fid. A full entry of lambs sold under good competition and realised full late rates. Extra heavy prime lambs made £1 6s to £1 7s fid ; heavy, £1 4s to £1 ss; medium, £1 3s to £1 3s fid; lighter, £1 Is (id Lo £1 2s 6d; light, Jss to £1 0s 6d. There was a smaller yarding of calves. Bidding was steady for all prime quality limners and vefilers and values were firm at late quotations. Unfinished and bucket-fed calves wore eusicr. Runners made £6 to £lO •Is; heavy veulcrs, £6 .5s to £7 0s; medium, £5 to £6; light, £3 15s to £4 15s; small, £1 to £3 10s; unfinished and bucket fed, 13s to £1 IGs; bobby and rough, 3s to 17s. There was a good yarding of pigs. Bidding was steady and values were equal to last week’s prices.
