BAND UNIFORM FUND
MAYOR’S APPEAL ENDS £2 70 NOW IN HAND In announcing to-day the closing of the City Band uniform funci appeal, the Mayor. Mr. N. H. Bull, expressed his thanks to all who have supported the appeal. The results achieved had exceeded all expectations, in view of the many other calls upon the public, said Mr. Bull. It was gratifying to feel that the necessary uniforms for the band were now assured. The total sum collected to date was £270 12s Id, and it was expected that further contributions either promised or now under consideration would slightly increase this amount. “As further bandsmen had joined the band since the fund was opened, any additional contributions will be much appreciated,” said Mr. Bull. “I have been asked by Mr. A. Wood, bandmaster, to add his sincere thanks on behalf of the band to all contributors, and to state that the interest shown in the appeal by the public has been greatly appreciated by members of the band.”
